Wolf & Badger Graduate Design Awards
Unique lifestyle store Wolf & Badger is launching its inaugural Graduate Design Awards this month, in a move that furthers the team's commitment to the support of up-and-coming designers.
Wolf & Badger is offering three lucky designers the chance to present and sell their graduate collection at its flagship boutique in London's trendy Notting Hill, alongside their hand-picked selection of some of the finest independent design talent from the UK and abroad that spans fashion, accessories, jewellery and homewares.
Prizes will be awarded in each of the following disciplines:
Fashion
Jewellery
Product Design (including Glassware and Ceramics)
Finalists will have the opportunity to present an image that represents their collection on the Wolf & Badger website and blog alongside a short interview, allowing the public to vote for their favourite.
The three most popular entrants from each category will display their work in the boutique for a prestigious awards evening attended by industry experts, trade buyers and members of the press. Winners will be announced on the night and their collection will be displayed in store and online for three months with 90% of the retail price going directly to the designer on each sale as per the innovative Wolf & Badger model.
The successful candidates will each receive a prize fund valued at £5,000, including:
Dedicated in-store display space with zero licence fee
Free set up and subscription on the award-winning e-commerce site
PR and Marketing services from Wolf & Badger Communications
Business and sales advice
Brand development and design consultancy
To participate in the open call, entrants must email one digital jpeg image they feel sums up their collection; this must contain at least one piece of their work and a summary of no more than 100 words. Links to web pages or attachments will not be considered.
Submissions will be accepted from 10th May 2010 until 14th June 2010.
The Wolf & Badger selection committee will personally review all submissions and select 6 finalists from each category based on the following criteria:
Innovation and originality
Quality and finish of design
Price and ability to produce in quantity

Photos should be 300dpi and print quality, and no more than 500kb. Applicants may only apply to a single discipline. Contact details must be included within the application.
