Opportunity for student filmmakers

MAKING TRACKS

Making Tracks is a groundbreaking short film event that offers unique way for new and established filmmakers to get their work seen. The idea is simple: we take a bunch of visually exciting short films and strip them of their original soundtracks, ready to be re-scored live by film score pros The Cabinet of Living Cinema in front of your very eyes. For more info visit http://whirlygigcinema.com/makingtracks

We are currently looking for films to show at our next event at Rich Mix on Friday 21st October 2011. See bottom of post for details on how to submit. To qualify, your film must:

- Have a duration of less than 12 minutes
- Have been made recently (preferably no more than 2 years old)
- Be visually descriptive, so will speak for itself when soundtrack is removed
- Contain little or no audience dialogue

CONTAINS MILD PERIL (HALLOWEEN)

Ve vant your vilms! We are celebrating the horror genre with this garrish goulish and ultimatly fun Halloween night on Sunday 30th October in an East London venue. Send us anything from scary spoofs and homemade vampire movies to creepy animations. Think hand-held cameras, stairs leading down into basements, empty old houses, ghouls and gremlins, alien attacks, zombie invasions and epic world apocalypses.

Your film should be no longer than 10 mins to give everyone a chance of being part of this event. Nothing too graphic, obscene or inappropriate please!

If you would like the chance to be part of either of these events, please download a submissions form here http://files.whirlygigcinema.com/submission-form.docx
and send to katie@whirlygigcinema.com by Friday 23rd September for MAKING TRACKS, or Sunday 2nd October for CONTAINS MILD PERIL.
