Tutors/Friends/Family

Have you shown your CV to others who could give you advice and feedback? Often, when you are writing and editing a document, you've been staring it for so long that it's hard to see if there are any mistakes. You may want to show your CV to someone else whose opinion you trust to get an outside perspective on any of the following:

  • Is the spelling and grammar correct?
  • Does the document have visual impact - would it grab their attention?
  • Does the content read well, and show your strengths?
  • How would they describe you? Are there any qualities they think you have missed?

Sit Down with a Guidance Specialist

Need some advice on what to do next? You might be feeling stuck and unsure of whether what you’re doing is the right thing. Perhaps the people around you all have different opinions on what you should be doing making it difficult for you to see straight. Whatever your situation, it helps if you try not to do everything on your own. It could be of help for you to come to a neutral environment, away from all the distractions of your day-to-day life, where you can have a constructive chat about your situation and your thoughts.

Booking a Quick Query session with one of our Guidance Specialists gives you 20 minutes to talk about your thoughts and concerns relating to work and/or further study.

What do other people talk to us about?

Some people are really specific in their needs, and come in to talk about interview techniques, job hunting strategies, their CV etc. Others need the time to bounce their thoughts about planning what to do next, whether to and how to change their course or how to take their first steps when leaving their studies.

How do I book?

20 minutes doesn’t sound like a lot of time but if you do as much preparation as you can then you can get a lot out of a session.
Don’t worry, if you run out of time you can always come in again, and as often as you like.
