The Open Gallery is launching the video painting competition
The Open Gallery is launching the video painting competition to find a new video artist to join the Artscape Project in an ongoing commission for video paintings. The competition is open to all graduating students and Postgraduate Film & Video students from Art Colleges across the UK.
From all the submissions, 10 artists will be shortlisted by the Open Gallery and announced in September 2009. The work of these artists will be exhibited in a prominent exhibition at a high profile London venue in October 2009.
The winner will be rewarded with an ongoing paid commission for video paintings and representation by the Open Gallery. They will also receive a prize of £500 to help launch and support the production of their video projects.
Students must register to take part in the competition by the 30th of July and then send full submissions by the 1st September 2009.
