Summer 2010 - San Gemini Preservation Studies Program, Italy
Summer 2010 field school in Italy, the San Gemini Preservation Studies Program, now in its 11th year, dedicated to the preservation of cultural heritage.
This year the program focuses on the study of architectural survey and restoration, art restoration and conservation of archaeological ceramics. The field projects involve the survey and restoration of medieval churches, archeological excavation in the ancient Roman city of Carsulae, and work on local archival material.
The program is a collaboration between scholars from various universities and local preservation groups, fostering a multidisciplinary approach to historic preservation. It is now a part of the International Institute for Restoration and Preservation Studies. All academic activities are held in English.
Application deadline is March 15th.

* Surveying and Analyzing Historic Buildings
* NEW - Introduction to Conservation of Archaeological Ceramics
* NEW - Workshop on Ceramics and Ceramics Conservation
* Fieldtrip to Sienna, Florence and Rome

* Survey and Restoration of the Church of Santo Gemine
* Archaeological survey and excavation of the public baths in Carsulae
