Studio Opportunity in Bedford
We are accepting rolling applications and so there is no set deadline. The studios will be allocated in a first come first serve principle so apply early to secure your preferred space. Due to the shorter lease possibilities there may be spaces opening up throughout the year: you can sign up for studio updates and we will keep you informed of studio opportunities.
To apply please submit:
o Up to ten images, or CDs/DVDs of your work
o A statement on your practice and a CV
o A description of why you would like a studio at i-Create and what you could
bring to the studios.
o Additional supporting material such as catalogues, copies of press cuttings
etc may also be included
Artists wishing to submit a full application via MP3 files or DVDs (therefore not
requiring any written text) are welcome to do so.
You application will be viewed by a selection panel including:
Jacques Rogers, Artist and Outpost Gallery, Norwich
John Stevens, Head of Art and Design, University of Bedfordshire
Lotte Juul Petersen, Artists and Programmes Curator, Wysing Arts Centre
Dawn Giles, Director, Bedford Creative Arts
Catherine Hemelryk, Artist Programmes Manager, Bedford Creative Arts
The panel will base their selection on the following four key criteria:
1. The quality of your work (in whatever media)
2. Willingness to develop and grow your practice and engage in a critical dialogue
3. That this is the right opportunity for your practice at this time
4. What you can contribute to the artistic community of i-Create Studios
If your application is passed by the selection panel you will be invited for an informal interview with a member of Bedford Creative Arts staff.
If you are looking to studio-share please clearly mark your application “Studio Share” and you will be put in touch with other artists seeking studio partners.
Please contact Kate Lovelock for rates and for an application pack at info@bedfordcreativearts.org.uk
