Pattern People is writing a surface design book and we’re looking for submissions from you!

Pattern People is writing a surface design book and we’re looking for submissions from you! Show off your design skills and send us your best prints in the categories listed below.

If your design gets picked, your work will appear in our downloadable book with a credit to you. We will also select a winner out of each of the print categories below who will get to choose a free Pattern People tote bag of choice featuring Karl Lagerfeld, Marc Jacobs, Prince, or Michael Jackson. A range of submitted designs will also be featured on our blog.

WHAT TO SUBMIT
We are looking for a range of prints from the following categories:

Florals
Botanicals, Damasks, Ditsies or Calicos, Graphic Florals, Hand-Drawn Florals, Painted Florals

Geometrics
Interesting interpretations of Checks, Plaids, Stripes, Dots, Zig-zags, Houndstooth, Fast Active Geometrics, Softer Geometrics

Textures
Animal Skins, Brush strokes, Camo, Mold inspired

Ethnics
Prints that mimic the look of ikat, tie dye, batik, embroidery, or mosaic tile work with inspirations from Africa, the Middle East, India, Japan, China, Russia, Mexico, and/or Native America.

Conversationals
Prints that use recognizable elements like animals, objects, people, etc.

HOW TO SUBMIT
Please send low-resolution jpegs (72 dpi) that are 300 pixels wide x 300 pixels high to the email below by November 5th. We will make decisions by November 15th. If your print or prints are selected, we will contact you and request high-resolution files.

Please include the following along with each file submitted:
- Pattern title
- Designer’s name
- Year created
- Image size: 300px w x 300px h at 72 dpi

Submission Deadline
November 5th 2010
