Norwich Film Festival … call for submissions

The festival will take place in a variety of venues in Norwich bewteen 18th and 25th September 2009.

2009 is our first year, so there has never been a better time to take part in the festival and submit your work. We currently have five categories into which people can enter their films, all with their own prizes:

Short Film (30 minutes or less, any genre) - prize is £1000
Feature Film (31 minutes or more) - prize is £1000
Documentary Film (Any length, any genre) - prize is £1000
Animated Film (Any length, any genre) - prize is £1000
Student Film (Any length, any genre, can also be submitted into another category, must show proof of student status) prize is £1000

There is also an award for Best Film 2009. This will be the film that has been deemed the best one submitted this year. The prize for this award is £5000.

We will have a panel of judges selecting films and choosing winners, including James King from BBC Radio 1.

We are pleased to admit that we are one of the few film festivals in Europe that offer a dedicated Student Film category, giving as much chance as possible to young, up and coming filmmakers to shine amongst more established artists. We pride ourselves on the fact that we encourage and educate young filmmakers, as well as enhance existing talent, so we will also be offering Q&A sessions with filmmakers, as well as workshops to give people the chance to learn more.

All films that are selected for screening throughout the festival will automatically be eligible for an IMDb title page, and winners will also get included on our annual "Best of" DVD.
