Meeting Checklist



For Presenters
  • Prepare and get focussed on what you really want to say
  • Use your time slot to show / talk about your work / ideas that are important to you
  • Raise issues/ideas that concern you to elicit helpful feedback and
  • questions.
  • Observe the time limits

For Mentors/Participants
  • Your role is to listen and ask useful questions that will help the presenter
  • Listen attentively and really focus on each person in turn
  • Respect the presenter’s time-slot - don’t interrupt or steal the time for
  • yourself
  • Don’t be tempted to give advice
  • Think about what to ask that will be helpful to the presenter about the
  • work/ideas being presented – to help them to clarify their ideas simplify,
  • talk more clearly, be challenged, help them to reflect
  • Ask open questions: ‘What?’, ‘How?’
  • Avoid: ‘Why?’
