Meeting Checklist
For Presenters
- Prepare and get focussed on what you really want to say
- Use your time slot to show / talk about your work / ideas that are important to you
- Raise issues/ideas that concern you to elicit helpful feedback and
- questions.
- Observe the time limits
For Mentors/Participants
- Your role is to listen and ask useful questions that will help the presenter
- Listen attentively and really focus on each person in turn
- Respect the presenter’s time-slot - don’t interrupt or steal the time for
- yourself
- Don’t be tempted to give advice
- Think about what to ask that will be helpful to the presenter about the
- work/ideas being presented – to help them to clarify their ideas simplify,
- talk more clearly, be challenged, help them to reflect
- Ask open questions: ‘What?’, ‘How?’
- Avoid: ‘Why?’
