Matthew Bourne's Nutcracker looking for students to help promote the show
We have a relationship with Hardy’s Original Sweet Shops, they have 16 shops around London and the UK and we are looking to do displays in 5 of these stores to promote Nutcracker! in the first two weeks of November (short deadline!)
The stores will be:
Covent Garden
St. Paul’s
Greenwich
Brent Cross
Kingston
We want the students to make a display in the window of the store of the Nutcracker logo and/or production shots made completely out of sweets, preferably those that feature in the show ie: Gobstoppers, Strawberry Bon-Bon’s, Liquorice Allsorts, however, we also would look at using Rock as the logo is made to look like that. The display would have to be lacquered to withstand the time in the window.
Hardy’s are willing to provide the sweets, we just need to find the creative minds to do it! So we are looking for up to 5 students to do 5 displays (or maybe 2-3 people to do all?). There will be Press and PR both from the show and the store around the work/students and as a thank you we would provide 2 tickets per student to see the show at Sadler’s Wells (top price tickets worth £52.50 – subject to availability).
The deadline for the finished work would be Monday 31st October so we would like to get the students in place by Monday 17 October (very short notice I know!), whereby we can meet with them, source the sweets they require and associated materials (which will be paid for by us). It is imperative that if they do want to be involved that they deliver the work by the 31st October.
