DESIGN AN EDUN T-SHIRT FOR MADE-BY’S 5-YEAR ANNIVERSARY

MADE-BY works with brands to gradually improve the environmental and social conditions of their supply chains. The ‘blue button’ is the MADE-BY trademark that is found on the garments of member brands.
EDUN’S mission is to create beautiful clothing while fostering sustainable employment in developing world. In 2007, EDUN launched the EDUN LIVE brand of blank tee shirts. The tees are 100% African produced, from the fields where the cotton is picked, to the factory where the final printing process occurs. This year, EDUN was proud to announce LVMH as one of its stakeholders.
THE CONTEST
The theme of the design should centre on sustainability and 5 years since the establishment of MADE-BY. Contestants can upload their designs from October 1st until 31st via www.made-by.org  where the designs will be also published.
The public will be able to vote for their favourite designs after which a professional jury will choose the winner out of the 10 designs that received the most votes. The jury includes Claudia Straatmans, Chief Editor of Cosmopolitan Netherlands, the international eco-model Summer Rayne Oakes and representatives from MADE-BY and Edun.
AND THE WINNER IS..
The winning design will be presented on December 16th in Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky in Amsterdam. The T-shirts will be sold online and within selected retailers in Europe.
PROCEEDS
Part of the proceeds of the shirt will be donated to the Conservation Cotton Initiative (CCI). This initiative supports improving living conditions in small livelihoods in Africa by helping farmers shift from environmentally destructive cotton-growing techniques to pesticide-free, organic cultivation while protecting wildlife habitats. Because of the better price farmers receive for this cotton, the standard of living of the whole community improves.
