Special Invitation for You and Your Collection!
For the last sixty years the Berkeley Dress Show has been the first event of each year’s London Season. This fashion show always commands a very high level of media attention and supports a specially chosen charity each year. This year show falls on St George’s Day – England’s national day – and the chosen charity is Help for Heroes, for the young men who fight in Afghanistan, many of whom return disabled if at all. The clothes are modelled by the London Season’s glamorous young high society debutantes who have been selected as models by a panel of judges.
The London Season organisers feel that it could also be wonderful to support young creative people at the beginning of their careers, by exhibiting the best student dress collections as well as display and sell paintings, sculptures, photography and jewellery at the Reception which precedes the show.
The show always has excellent media exposure. Last year's event received coverage from Hello! magazine, Pointe de Vue, Paris, The Gulf Dubai Magazine, the Evening Standard, The Times and both Tatler and Vogue International have covered former events in addition to BBC and Channel Four.
Up to ten woman’s wear collections from UAL students will be featured at the show. Guests at the show will vote on the best collection and the winner will receive a publicity package including a paid return ticket to Dubai and a magazine fashion spread featuring their collection. Designers should also consider creating a unique design of veil or Abaya for clients from Dubai. This can be just a drawing or sketch.
To accept this invitation you need to
• Email me, Lukas Kroulik, kroulik.lukas@gmail.com with a brief statement of your interest, and UAL course details by 1st January 2010
• Submit (by email) a photo portfolio of a significant part of your collection by 31st January 2010
