Internship Fair  - 3rd October 2008

The JobShop is hosting the 1st Internship Fair as part of Pathfinders Week. Getting an internship or work experience can be the best method of gaining insight into the creative industries, it can also improve the chance of being hired. On the 3rd of October a variety of employers will be presenting their internship positions/programmes.

Creative Competitions  - 17th October 2008
Davies Street, Room 323
2-5:30pm

This event is aiming to drive home the importance of entering competitions to students and graduates. Entering competitions is a great way of raising a profile, employers are always looking for big names, achievements, and sense of ambition in potential employees and their portfolios. On the 17th October employers including Fujifilm, MacMillian Publishing, D& AD and Satellite Brown will be presenting their competitions and offering tips on getting ahead.

Part Time Job Fair - 29th October 2008

The 8th Part Time Job Fair will be held on the 29th October, a host of employers from the retail, catering, events industries will be there looking for candidates to fill their vacancies. If you need to earn some extra cash while you study of for your holidays come along and find a job. Creative Careers will also have a stand and will be offering quick CV checks.

Games Galore
November Date tbc

The animation industry is notoriously hard to crack, jobs are hardly advertised and competition is fierce. In November the JobShop has invited RockStar Games-world leading games designers, Creative Personnel- leading recruitment company for interactive media, and Hilary Klesh- a business development consultant for the gaming industries, to come in and share their knowledge of the employment culture of the industry and give advice on how to get a job. RockStar will also give quick portfolio advice to 20 students.
