One last chance to design jewellery with Jenny Bloy at Holts Academy of Jewellery
As a member of various prestigious councils including the Institute of Professional Goldsmiths and being a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts; Jenny Bloy has the experience and knowledge to teach you the history and future of jewellery design, the process of concept to design, various drawing and painting techniques and the relationship between design and manufacturing methods. This in depth and extensive course starts on the 1st September 2010 and runs every Wed and Thurs from 10am – 2pm for four weeks. Price: £439 (Non Trade) £390 (Trade)
Setting Unit 3: 31st Aug – 5th Oct 2010 (Tue) 2pm – 6pm Price: £400.00
This advanced setting unit develops your Pave setting, which are amongst the most popular choice of settings in traditional and contemporary jewellery. The setting styles you will learn are Cut down and Micro –Pave which can greatly enhance the beauty and value of your work; as well as V-Claw, Roman and Channel setting.
Stringing Diploma: 6th Sept – 20th Sept 2010 (Mon) 10.30am – 2pm Price: £280.00
Stringing is all about learning how to incorporate different styles and designs into your beading work; learning about knotting and separating the beads from each other. You will be working with fresh water pearls on this course.
Wax Carving and Casting Master class - Friday 26th November & Friday 3rd December 2010 10am – 5pm Special offer! : £330.00 (reduced from £500.00)
Combining your knowledge of jewellery manufacture and production, you will be guided through the skills required when carving master waxes for prototyping and moulding for casting quickly and accurately. This is an intensive course with a maximum of four students in the group and will be the last wax carving and casting course running this year. It is suitable for beginners.
