Graduate and New Talent Residencies available at the Pervasive Media Studio
We are inviting applications from graduates and new talent with innovative ideas for creative projects based around pervasive technologies (mobile and wireless media). Projects can be completely new or something you have begun to develop already. The emphasis is on innovation, collaboration and creativity. You may have studied art, media, architecture or fashion; computing, design or performance.
Company information
The Pervasive Media Studio is Watershed's city-centre research studio, which brings together artists, technologists and academics to collaborate on research into the future of mobile and wireless media. The Studio has 30 desks and mixes commercial and cultural projects with a focus on trying out new ideas. Areas of work include gaming, projection, location-based media, digital displays and new forms of performance.
We offer free desk space at our Harbourside Studio with access to meeting rooms, editing facilities and technical equipment. Most importantly, becoming part of our community provides access to an inspiring and supportive network of artists, creatives, technologists and academics. We further offer plenty of opportunities to network, free entry to events and access to ideas and feedback from some of the brightest minds working in pervasive media.
Over the past three years we have supported the first steps of brilliant start-ups; bridged the gap between education and employment for graduates from varied backgrounds and provided artists and creative practitioners with time and space to hone their practice.
To find out more about our recent projects, please visit www.pmstudio.co.uk
Skills and qualities
You must have a proven curiosity about emerging technologies; be available to spend regular time at the Studio and willing to contribute to our research in skill swap sessions, research updates and workshops. You should be self motivated, well organised and passionate about what you want to achieve.
How to apply
Please introduce yourself with a paragraph on who you are, what you are working on and why you are interested in joining us. Send your expression of interest and any questions you might have to shirin@pmstudio.co.uk. We will then contact you to discuss your idea in detail and find out whether it fits our space.
