Film-making opportunity
City Insights is a new concept for city navigation and information. It's a combination of the old-fashioned plaque and the latest mobile connectivity. Points of interest are marked with colourful temporary signs. Each one tells you the postcode of the spot where you are standing. You type this into a website via your mobile phone, and download some pithy and fascinating facts about local history, communities and attractions.
In June, July and August this year we are running a pilot project in the London Bridge/Bankside area of Southwark, in association with the London Festival of Architecture. About 70 hotspots will be highlighted with the City Insights plaques.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
We are looking for a film-maker or small team to make a 7-10 minute film documenting the pilot, from preparations in early June through the summer. Weâ d like to capture the views of local residents, workers and tourists who have experienced City Insights. This film will be used to explain the concept to future clients and needs to give a clear explanation of how it all works. What do users do? What do they like about the experience? How has it enhanced their visit to the area? What's the technology that supports the system?
The film needs to be bright and upbeat. We want to sell the product, but not give it a heavy-handed hard sell. Your film will need to be imaginative and stylish, but also clear, accessible and appealing to a broad audience - from a local council officer to the director of an international art festival.
We can offer a budget of up to £2000 to the right team.
HOW TO APPLY
Send CVs and 2 examples of recent work for each team member, a written proposal describing how you would tackle the production of the film, including timeline and budget breakdown, and a storyboard or written outline with your initial thoughts on the structure of the film.
