NEW STUDENT COMPETITON (£800 and internship prize)
The brief.
We are looking for artwork that reflects their customer mantra of ‘Enjoy life’. The winning work will inspire new permanent signage for Duke of York Square and offers a chance to work in partnership with top London branding agency Underscore*.
This is a very open brief as we are excited to see all types of interpretations.
The categories for this competition are as follows:
• Best use of graphics
• Best use of materials
• Best use of mixed media
All artwork needs to be supplied in digital format. And delivered to Underscore for collation along with the entry form with can be obtained from lucy@underscore.co.uk .
This brief is open to selected universities and colleges across London.
We advise that you visit the square to get a full understanding of the area and what it has to offer to its visitors. If you would like further information on the signage within the square then please contact lucy@underscore.co.uk.
The vote.
The judging panel (TJP) will vote and six entries will be shortlisted. These entries will be considered the best to work as a part of future signage and best reflect the concept of ‘enjoying life’ on the square.
These entries will be re-sized (if necessary) and printed by underscore so they are all the same format. The 6 finalist entries will go on display at Duke of York Square for a short period of time. During this time visitors can view the
work and cast a vote for their favourite entry.
Taking into consideration the ‘peoples’ favourite a final vote for the winner and 2 runners-up will be cast by TJP to consist of Cadogan*, Duke of York Square* representatives and Underscore.
The winning entries.
Winner:
£800
The winner will also receive a 2 weeks internship at Underscore where they will work on evolving their signage designs.
The winning artwork will inspire the new permanent signage on Duke of York Square, which will cover aspects from wayfinding, posters and entrance signs.
2 Runners up:
£350 each
NB. The winner’s concept might not become the final signage for DoYS but they will have the opportunity to evolve the designs into the final product whilst at Underscore.
The dates.
The deadline for all entries is Monday 17th October.
There will be a 2 week timeframe for all entries to be collated and judged for the first round.
The dates for the public display will be released nearer the time.

Cadogan Estate
The Cadogan Estate covers more than 90 acres of Chelsea and Knightsbridge, some of the most fashionable districts of the Capital in which to live, work and play.
