UK's leading open news platform offers students opportunity to interact
We will be taking their stories, hosting them at www.demotix.com and pushing them to the mainstream media here and abroad.
We have just launched a mini-site for the upcoming UK elections showing campaigns, candidates and related features from around the UK:
http://www.demotix.com/uk-elections-2010
This could be a great opportunity for students to interact with a UK-wide news community while also providing a platform for their photos and articles.
All that is required is to create an account on our website and then begin reporting. We're especially looking for local content as we aim to have the most comprehensive coverage of the UK election as possible. This is a great way to build portfolios and get exposure to over 14,000 other global users. If the stories are especially unique and interesting, there is a possibility that they might be syndicated to mainstream sources such as the Guardian.
If you have further questions, please get back to me by email heather@demotix.com
