Build a picture of your network
Identifying your communityWhen people talk about networking it can feel as though you’re not plugged into or connected to a specific ‘network’. You’re some distance from those who you feel would understand where you’re going, coming from etc. and you wouldn’t know where to start to get any closer to them.
What connects you to the people you would want to meet, is your existing community. Understood, the reason you’ve come this page is because you don’t believe you have a ‘network’ at this point, but we’re going to try to prove you wrong.
First step
For the first stage of this task, we’re not particularly thinking about who could be useful to you right now, or who you would feel comfortable calling. This exercise is just for you to work out who is 'out there'.
