Young Artists of the Year competition
Young Artists of the Year is an opportunity for emerging artists as well as young established artists to engage with the art market and receive exposure and promotion. The best submissions will form an exhibition in Newcastle upon Tyne in November 2011. An overall winner will be crowned Biscuit Factory Foundation Young Artist of the Year 2011 by a panel of judges and will be offered a solo exhibition at The Biscuit Factory in 2012. They will receive the promotion of the gallery and The Journal's Culture Magazine, in addition to the award of prizes supplied by our sponsors Winsor and Newton and Blackwell's bookshop. A second Peoples' Choice winner will be chosen by visitors to The Biscuit Factory and our websites, and will receive a secondary prize package from our sponsors.
The prize
A panel of judges will choose an overall winner who will receive regional exposure through Culture Magazine, a solo exhibition in 2012 at The Biscuit Factory, alongside £250 worth of Winsor and Newton art materials, £100 to spend at Blackwell’s and professional career development legal advice.
Visitors to the exhibition and this website will be invited to vote to select a People’s Choice winner who will be awarded £100 worth of Winsor and Newton art materials and £50 to spend at Blackwell’s.
The deadline for submissions is 6th November 2011.
