Celebrating Women Filmmakers
Birds Eye View Film Festival
4-12 March 2010
BFI Southbank, ICA and Barbican

2010's Birds Eye View Film Festival will be opened by the brilliant Jane Horrocks on the 4th March. It then dives into 9 jam-packed days which include 8 inspired feature films - from Drew Barrymore's fun-charged Whip It to an erotic thriller by Isabel Coixet, 7 penetrating documentaries including the latest by Brit Leader Kim Longinotto, 21 visionary shorts and 22 retro movies starring iconic blondes. As always the festival features BEV's already-famous commissions of new scores by hot female talent to classic silent films - one of this year's performers is the British Composer 2009 award-winning Mira Calix plus showcases cutting-edge fashion and music films. Expect a glittering bevy of celebrities and filmmakers including a masterclass with Denmark's star director Susanne Bier and a special Oscars-Night screening with A-lister Gillian Anderson, parties, special events and much more. This year they're at the ICA, BFI Southbank, Renoir Cinema, Lexi Cinema and Ritzy Picturehouse.
