Bilbao Fine Arts Museum Training Grants 2009

INVITATION TO APPLY
The Bilbao Fine Arts Museum is offering 8 training grants in a range of areas within the Museum to help young people to get launched on the job market, to encourage them to teach themselves and enable them to gain experience of the work environment. The programme is possible thanks to the generous sponsorship of Manterola, an artwork exhibitions and shipping company of international prestige.

GRANT PROGRAMME
· Lasts 8 months from October to May. Grant holders must be available to begin on 1 October 2009.
· Working day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
· The holiday period is as follows: from 24 December 2009 to 6 January
2010 (both inclusive) and from 29 March to 5 April 2010 (both inclusive).
· Monthly remuneration of 500 euros. The grant holder begins to receive the monthly allocation at the beginning of the programme.
· Medical insurance coverage for accidents while the grant lasts.
· Application period opens on 11 May and closes on 14 June 2009.

APPLICANTS MUST
· Be university graduates under the age of 30.
· Have graduated after 2005.
· Prove they have full command of Spanish.

SELECTION PROCESS
· The Museum takes into account the applicant’s academic record, skills and capabilities.
· The Museum interviews pre-selected candidates only.
· The Museum shall notify beneficiaries of its decision on 30 June 2009 and may declare the grant award process partially or entirely void.

INCOMPATIBILITIES
· These grants are for training purposes only and are compatible with
any paid work, grant, travel allowances or economic aid from any
other body, provided the grant holder’s Museum timetable is not
affected.
· Individuals may only receive a grant once.

GRANT HOLDER OBLIGATIONS
· To accept the grant explicitly by e-mail in ten calendar days from the day of notification of the grant award by the Museum. Any person
awarded a grant that does not accept it within the stipulated period
will be understood to have renounced the grant, which will then be
awarded to the first candidate on the list of pre-selected candidates.
· Grant holders undertake to perform the functions detailed in the
programme and any other activities the Head of Department considers convenient.
· Grant holders shall observe the timetable established in these
conditions.
· The Head of Department in question monitors the grant holder’s
progress and issues the final report and certificate.
· Grant holders also present a final report.
· In no case shall the programme be considered as constituting an
employee-employer relationship of any kind between the grant holder
and the Museum.
· The presentation of an application implies that the candidate
expressly accepts any decisions the Museum may take concerning
the conditions included herein.
