Desired Reaction: We want people to think about who they can share this with. Reaction: “I have to show this to X” Sexual Content: Nudity is not allowed in any Hiretheworld Video contest. Videos can be edgy but no R rated content.
Language: Videos can be edgy but no R rated content. Have fun with this but we don’t want to offend people.
Alcohol Consumption: Important: We cannot show anyone consuming alcohol. They can have the bottle in their hand, have it coming up to their mouth, but in order to go on TV they must not be consuming the alcohol.

HiretheWorld Virality Ranking System:
The Virality Ranking system is designed to reward you for designing a video that goes viral and for the effort you put in to sharing your video as much as possible. There are 3 major scoring categories involved in calculating your virality score, with additional bonuses available:
• View Points
• Social Points
• Feedback Points
• Bonuses
View Points
“View Points” scoring encourages you to direct viewers to watch your video as much as possible. The point system will reward you for views of your video on the HiretheWorld site, Facebook and Youtube. The scoring system will be weighted to encourage views at HiretheWorld.com but simultaneously promoting your video on all three sites give you the best chance at getting points.
Social Points
“Social Points” are awarded to you when you and your network share your video. After registering at HiretheWorld.com, you receive a unique HiretheWorld URL. This allows us to track how much sharing of your link is happening on sites like Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter. These points are not dependent on how many people click your links to view your video. Simply sharing your link will earn you points, though getting views from your links will obvious yield more points.
Feedback Points
“Feedback Points” are awarded based on how viewers are rating your video through the HiretheWorld site. A rating of 5 stars will yield substantially more points than a rating of 1 star. Additional points are awarded if the voter has logged in as a user of HiretheWorld, and even more points are awarded if the voter has completed their profile (100% complete in profile status bar).
Points will also be awarded for feedback from social news sites like Stumbleupon, Reddit and Digg, though less than the points available for feedback at HiretheWorld.
Bonuses
1. Geographic View Bonuses
This bonus will impact total “View Points”. Given that Bassano is launching initially in Canada, A Canadian view is worth 3 times more than a view from anywhere else in the world. So if a Canadian views your video at HiretheWorld.com, you would earn 3 points whereas a view from Antarctica would earn you only 1. These modifiers are above and beyond the $2,500 prize mentioned at the beginning of the Virality section for the most overall Canadian views.

Each week the video with the most “View Points”, the video with the most “Social Points” and the video with the most “Feedback Points” will earn a bonus for that category of points. The bonus will increase in magnitude with each passing week.
Example: If Videographer A has the most “View Points” (let’s say 100 pts) after week 1, they would start week 2 with 110 view points. This bonus would have no effect on Videographer A’s social or feedback points, nor their point totals in week 2.
These are one-time bonuses which are calculated weekly. They are designed to help somebody who posts an amazing video later on in the contest catch up in terms of Virality Points.
The Viral Scoring System is designed to provide a means of measuring Virality and reinforce that this is more than a video contest, it is a viral video contest. If it’s all too much, the scoring system can be boiled down quite simply:

The sharing prizes are not just for contestants. They are for any individual who wants to get involved. The prizes for sharing are based on how many click-throughs are generated for the contest. These prizes are not video specific. A click-through occurs every time an individual clicks on your link to visit the contest page.
When you register for www.HiretheWorld.com you are given a unique code in your URL. While you are logged in you can use the share buttons for Facebook, Twitter etc to automatically post your unique URL to your profiles in those social media sites. Alternatively, you could copy and paste the URL from your logged in HiretheWorld page. A videographer would simultaneously gain “Sharing Points” as well as “Social Points” for sharing the link and receiving a click-through.
To encourage sharing even if one user has a large advantage in total click-throughs, we are holding a random draw. Every click-through counts as one ballot into the draw. Thus, even if you only get one click-through, you have a chance at winning $1,500.
