Art as social tool

PSJM is an artistic collaboration between Pablo San José and Cynthia Viera, Spanish artists based in Berlín. PSJM's art practice utilizes the visual language of mass media and advertising to create their own commercial brand in order to question the relationship between the market and the consumer, deepening their line of reflection and criticism on the values imposed by capitalism.

The workshop will be divided between theoretical debate - around the issues of transmedia and its relationship to the art-world, the artist, general society, and the growth of capitalism - and practical exercises on exhibition management in order for participants to develop their own project.

The workshop will coincide with the exhibition 'Off the Street' at A Foundation, which transfers the strong activism and subversive undertones related to urban art to the galley space, whilst transforming the aesthetics and mediums normally associated with the discipline.
