ANTONY GORMLEYS PLINTH PRACTICE IN TRAFALGAR SQUARE
The "Plinth Practice" will provide an opportunity for people to try out ideas for different activities on the plinth, which they can realise if they are selected. All kinds of homemade plinths, anything you can stand on from a tablecloth to a milkcrate are acceptable.
Antony Gormley's One & Other is conceived as a portrait of the UK in 2009 and will run from 6 July - 14 October 2009 as part of the rolling programme of contemporary art commissions for the empty Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square. Every hour, 24 hours a day for 100 days, a different person will take their place on the plinth as a continuous monument in time.
