The Annya Sand Prize for emerging artists from the former Soviet States
Annya Sand is proud to present the Annya Sand Prize.
The prize will be awarded to the best emerging artist from the former Soviet Union*.
Galleries and individuals from across the world will be invited to submit works by eligible artists who have not had their work previously exhibited in the UK. A panel of judges will select the best works which will be on display in a dedicated room within the Russian Eastern & Oriental Art Fair (click here for full details). The final judging will be a combination of panel experts, press and public on-line voting.
The winner of the Annya Sand prize will be offered a solo exhibition in a prestigious central London gallery, together with a cash prize and PR package to help launch their London career. There will also be prizes for the runner up.
Prize entrants will be showcased on the Russian Art Fair website and throughout the Fair's International press marketing campaign. The finalists will also be featured in the Fair catalogue.
The winner will be announced at the Royal Private View on Wednesday 9th June 2010.
Judging Panel:
The judging panel will include leading London gallery directors, art press and PR experts. Confirmed panel members include Andrew Graham Dixon (TV Art Critic), Samir Ceric (Salon Contemporary); Jean-David Malat (Opera Gallery); Anna Hunter (Belgravia Gallery); Tanya Baxter (Kings Road Gallery); James Butterwick (James Butterwick Fine Art); Sarah Callaghan (Asian Art Newspaper); Cherie Federico (Aesthetica Magazine) and Aliona Muchinskaya (Red Square PR).
How To Apply:
The Eastern Art Prizes are open to artists working in traditional media only. This includes painting, sculpture, print-making and traditional photography. It is not open to artists working in video, digitally enhanced photography, installation or conceptual art.
Galleries:
Established galleries can submit up to 5 artists with a maximum of 3 entries per artist. The artist(s) must not be affiliated to any other Western galleries or be listed in the main art sales indexes. Include details of any exhibitions the artist(s) has held with your gallery.
Artists:
Please submit up to 3 images. Include: title; dimensions and date of creation. Where possible please also include a brief biography, with details of art education, previous sales, commissions, etc. where appropriate. The prizes are also open to self-taught artists. There is no age limit but artists must not have exhibited their work in the UK previously.
All entries should have been produced after 1st January 2009 and must be available for sale.
Entries must be submitted in the following formats:
Low resolution J-PEG or GIF
Maximum size 600pixels
For each work submitted please include clearly:
Artist Name
Date of Birth
Nationality
Title
Dimensions
Medium
