AniFest 2009 - Call for entries

We are pleased to invite you to participate in the international competition of the 8th edition of the International Festival of Animated Films AniFest 2009 that will be held in two different locations, Trebon and Teplice (Czech Republic) on the following dates:

In Trebon from 1 to 4 May 2009 and in Teplice from 7 to 10 May 2009.

A written application and a copy of the film on DVD or VHS shall be delivered to the Organizer’s registered office no later than 16 December 2008.

The deadlines for the Competition of Internet Animation are specified below. The deadline for entering films into the Internet competition is 19 January 2009.

As our website will be updated, the on-line Entry Form will be available at www.anifest.cz in mid-November 2008.

Only films made after 1 January 2007 and which have not competed in a previous edition of AniFest are eligible to be entered.

The organizer announces the international competition in the following film categories:

1. Animated Films of up to 5 Minutes
2. Animated Films of 5 to 15 Minutes
3. Animated Films of 15 to 60 Minutes
4. Feature-Length Films
5. Commissioned Films Competition: Works that are funded and produced for commercial or promotional purposes; TV films and series made based on a TV broadcaster’s order can be accepted for the Competition, but only one episode of the series can be entered. This category also includes commercials, music videos, animated credits, animated spots, educational films, etc. In all cases, these must be short films made to order.
6. School Competition: Collections of films approximately 40 minutes in length comprised of student films made between September 2007 and the end of 2008 can be entered. Films can also be entered individually in the appropriate Student Films Competition.
7. Student Films: Films made by film school students to fulfill their school duties. The film can also be part of a school collection.
8. Internet Animation: The competition is announced only on the Internet and the winner is selected by audience voting.

The Festival’s competition program in Trebon includes:

1. Animated Films of up to 5 Minutes
2. Animated Films of 5 to 15 Minutes
3. Animated Films of 15 to 60 Minutes
4. Feature-Length Films
5. Czech Animated Films

The Festival’s competition program in Teplice includes:

1. Commissioned Films Competition
2. School Competition
3. Student Films
4. Films Made by Children
