Advocacy Plus - Opportunity to network
Advocacy Plus is a charity providing trained advocates to support people aged 60 and over to get their voice heard, when for reasons of dementia, frailty, disability or social isolation, they are unable to speak up for themselves.
The project will start in March 2012 and the care homes are all in the London area.
Each visit will take about 4 hours – one hour to prepare, two hours to perform and one hour to exchange and record the learning from the event.
We are looking for a small group of students to make three visits during the course of one year
Apart from the reward of making a real difference to the lives of marginalised, vulnerable people, this work should provide an opportunity for students to develop their creative skills in a very new field.
All out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed.
