20//20 at Bethnal Green Working Men's Club - Call for Submissions

We plan to stage a series of events and an exhibition between November 3rd and December 1st that re-connect with the history and people involved with the Bethnal Green Working Men's Club.

We invite submissions in any media
  • performance / music / dance
  • painting / drawing / sculpture
  • mixed media/ installation
  • film / animation
  • architectural proposals/models
  • text / sound / live words
Submissions are invited to engage with the various spaces of the Club – the more unusual the better – and with its members (we can facilitate contact with the members themselves). Spaces available include large bar/social rooms, stairwells, wall-spaces, corridors, dining/kitchen area, a smaller social area with a nautical feel and many more.

For further information about the project and for preliminary materials / contacts for guidance and inspiration, please contact us on 20.20collective@gmail.com

Proposals should include:
− name, email address and contact number
− a short written proposal – maximum 250 words
− between two to five examples of current work/ proposed pieces

Unfortunately we are unable to offer any financial assistance but we will offer practical support where we can and press exposure.

Proposals should be received by Friday 16th September by email to 20.20collective@gmail.com. You will be notified of the outcome of your proposal by Monday 19th September.

The deadline for completed works is Thursday 20th October.
