1917 - a new networking site for music / film / arts students
In a nutshell, it’s designed for young bands and musicians to be able to find other people who can help with their career. For example, if a band from Guildford require someone to shoot a free / cheap video – they can upload a profile on the site and then post a message which would go out to all the film students who may have to shoot a short promo film for their course. Alternatively, if bands want to find musicians, backing singers, producers, man with van, managers, photoraphers, designers, stylists etc etc, they will all be up there.
It’s a bit of a cross between Facebook, Myspace and LinkedIn – they upload a profile and find people to work with in the area they live. It’s all free.
It goes live in September – for now all you need to do is register and you’ll get an email when the site is ready to upload your profile www.diggingyourscene.com
